A little history about the White House.

--Has developed into a five star accommodation with 132 rooms, 1902 Theodore Roosevelt changed name from "Presidents House" to the "White House" and the West Wing was added. In 1909 the Oval Office was added. Entrances are "Portico's", with the "South Portico" added in 1824, and the "North Portico" adds in 1829. East Wing was built in 1942 for offices of the First Lady and White House military office. 1952 renovation included installing a steel frame to support the floors, and a balcony added over the South Portico. In 1803 (Tomas Jefferson) outdoor privy's were replaced with two water closets. In 1834 indoor plumbing was added. In 1845 a refrigerator was added. In 1848 gas lighting was added. In 1852 one telephone was added (little use). 1880 the WH added a typewriter. In 1881 (James Garfield) primitive air-conditioning was added. In 1891 electric lights were added.
